Richard started his professional journey playing the mini-tours in the UK and Ireland on the EuroPro Tour. He won his first event at the Cobra Puma Championship in 2019 and followed that up with a fourth placed finish on the Challenge Tour's Road to Mallorca a year later.
In 2021 Richard qualified for his first Open Championship by coming through qualifying at Hollinwell Golf Club. Another successful season followed in 2022 where, with limited starts and status, Richard finished 44th on the Race to Dubai - it included two third placed finishes and four further top tens. After an outstanding season, Richard was selected to represent GB&I at the Hero Cup alongside team members such as Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry and Tyrrell Hatton.
After a few years of near misses and consistently putting himself in contention, Richard claimed his first DP World Tour victory at the 2024 Porsche Singapore Classic. He carded a final round 66 to beat Japan's Keita Nakajima by a single shot, two putting from over 90ft on the final green.
Richard likes to spend time away from golf with his wife Ellie and their dog, Arnie.
